Department of Pediatrics
Even before the recognition of pediatrics as a medical specialty, the Yale School of Medicine in 1813 hosted the first formal lectures on children's diseases in the United States. However, it wasn't until 1920 that the modern Department of Pediatrics was formally established with the opening of a 12-bed pediatric ward in the New Haven Hospital. | |
