The innovativeness of United Laboratories as a pharmaceutical company became very evident with the creation of UMED (Unilab Education and Development). In the last six years, UMED, the instructive body of Unilab, continue to uphold its commitment of delivering non commercial quality education to medical practitioners all over the country. The collective and outstanding efforts of the UMED staff and the support of Unilab's pharmaceutical divisions had resulted to the successful outcomes of State-of-the-Art conferences and small group interactive discussions. The introduction of UMED newsletter and website www.umed.com.ph became inevitable.
As an initiator of advancement, UMED maximizes the contemporary means available to provide the relevant information to Filipino medical community. One such effective tool is the newly reformatted website now named as Medlink. It features medical updates, announcements, current UMED events and conferences, interactive sessions, developments in the researches and studies provided by Scientific Data Bank (SDB). It also allows the viewer to get to know the people behind the very successful UMED conferences through its personality profiles page. The site reconstruction, a considerable undertaking by any standards, was done through the collaborative efforts of Dr. Edgardo Ortiz, Dr. Percival Punzal, Ms. Marie Reyes and members of Unilab's Information Technology group composed of Ms. Maribel Ang-Santo, Mr. Noel Angeles and Mr. Jeffrey Encarnacion. New creative designs, better graphics and layouts for enhanced visual impact, easier navigation and faster access to medical information are the latest features of Medlink.
Without a doubt, the new website of UMED and SDB will result to better flow of information for both internal and external viewers of United Laboratories Inc. Logging on for information has become a way of life for today's dynamic health professionals. UMED and SDB constantly keep up with these ever evolving demands.
