The UMED personnel got their own dose of Basic Medical Science (BMS) training. Yes … UMED needed training too. The knowledge derived from the course could help the UMED group in gaining a better perspective in assisting doctors in their training and research needs. Other personnel from the different departments of Unilab namely, Corporate Product Board (New Ventures), UL International, External Affairs, and Corporate Affairs joined UMED. They, too, could benefit from the course.
Drs. Percival Punzal and Loreta Dayco of UMED-Project Development and Professional Management (PDPM) conducted lectures from March 10 to 12 at the Science Information Management (Research Library).
The BMS course contained 17 modules. And these modules were designed to provide medical facts and figures in the fields of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and therapeutics.
