 On June 1, Unilab Medical Education and Development (UMED) visited two provinces of Bukidnon specifically Quezon and Maramag to bring them the Prenatal Care module. The facilitators, Drs. Raul Quillamor and Regta Pichay, both experts in the field, came all the way from Manila.
Held in the morning at the PILMARC Bakeshop and Restaurant at Quezon, Bukidnon, the first workshop was attended by doctors, nurses and midwives. 40 participants joined this particular event. The discussion for the two groups was very lively, informative. The participants truly appreciated the whole workshop. The discussion went beyond the 75-minute limit due to various concerns brought up by the attendees. VERIFY THIS At the end of the session, the participants showed interest in attending the other module workshops of UMED because apart from being very informative and useful, they were having fun with the informal set-up of the discussion.
The second Prenatal workshop took place at Waig Crystal Spring Resort, Maramag Bukidnon. The event started at 2 pm of the same day. The facilitators as well as the UMED staff went straight to Waig Resort after the session at PILMARC Quezon. This showed how dedicated the Unilab team as well as the facilitators were in providing quality CME to as many participants as possible. Not to mention that the group came all the way from Davao and traveled early in the morning to Bukidnon in order to make it to the first workshop of the day. The participants in Maramag constituted mostly of nurses and midwives. The session started with a prayer song led by the group of midwives. The session extended again and everyone including the facilitators had a great time during the discussion. The participants commented that the discussion was very relevant to their practice and they were very thankful to be given a chance to discuss openly with the experts.
Despite the hectic schedule at Bukidnon, the UMED staff as well as the facilitators felt fulfilled because they know they have truly helped the allied professionals in the area. The participants’ continuous enthusiasm in attending the workshops of UMED fuels the energy of the Unilab team to carry on in their pursuit of helping medical practitioners gain additional knowledge and up to date information by bringing them advance and quality continuing medical education. | |  | Photos | Click to Enlarge |  |
